Lax Barbarus Guild

So far I think I have only added Sinnister and Winstan to the guild membership.

But, I have run into a snag and that is that when I log in now I do not have access to the Guild management screen. All I see is the guild window that you can register a Guild with but nothing else. When I type lax Barbarus into that window I get a message telling me that that name is already taken.

I've sent in several petitions to see whats going on, but no replies as of yet.

So can Winstan or Sinnister see the guild window?

I just logged in to check, and from looking at the friends list, it appears you are no longer in the guild. It doesn't show you as having a rank like it does me and Winstan.

Next time we're on at the same time I can add you back if that's the case, but I'm not sure how you'll get the Chieftain rank back? Looks like we may be stuck without a guild "owner" unless they answer your petition. You'd think if you somehow left the guild it would auto-promote the next highest ranking guild member.

Incidentally, I really hope they improve the Guild functionality. It sucks to have to look in the friends list for something that resembles a guild roster. Very poor design.

This is a kown issue with the Guild Panel, the "confirm" option is way to close to the "Leave Guild" button, and if you accidently miss click, there is no "are you sure you want to leave the guild" option or prompt.

Many Guild Leaders in europe have reported that they have accidently left the guild, leaving it leaderless. Some have been lucky in that when the guild leader left, it has auto-assigned the role to the next senior member, so check your friends list and the rankings to see who is currently the leader. They should be able to transfer the role back to who-ever is apporpiate once they are invited back in.

Sinister should have been able to re-invite me, but no luck. Still petitioning every chance I get, but no replies.

Check with Sinnister and see if he can invite others. Maybe its just me.

Another option (assuming you have not ivested anything yet in building the guild city) is for everyone to leave the guild. That will delete the guild as there are no members freeing up the name again, it can then be re-created under the same name you are currently using.

looked up Barbarus and Barbarius on wikipedia, and although there was no entry for the second, the entry for the first read:

Barbarus is a Swamp Man of the Savage Land. He became one of the Savage Land Mutates created by Magneto, the master of magnetism, along with Amphibius, Brainchild, Equilibrius, Gaza, Lupo, and Piper I. With the other Savage Land Mutates, he battles the X-Men and Ka-Zar at the order of Magneto.

Looks like he's a character from the Marvel Comics.

Ok, I'm in. Good times last night. Sin, you were right, we should have squashed that LvL 14 SoB when we first saw him. How long do some of these spells linger for? I could have sworn that after the LvL 20 witch incident I was having after effects from one of her spells for the rest of the night(about 30-45 mins.) It was like 2 black gloves over me with a fire sound. Very odd.

I think I was 0'fer last night. I need to remove the tooltip that comes up with you hold down Shift and select a directional attack button. I kept hitting shift for my shields instead of control and those frigging tooltips would get right in the way. Need to work on keymappings in general too.

But it was definately fun. We'll do it again, but take along a healer of our own next time. :)

Hey Worth, were ya'll playing AoC last night? You should come up to the conan TS channel. We could of used your prowess last night at White Sands.

As far as healing goes all I can say is that PoMs rock. I was really having a hard time working myself up to play when I was runnning my assassin. Switching to another class made all the difference in the world. Between my aoe damage spells that heal me at the same time, my aoe knockdown and my self\party HoTs life is good. I still get killed but usually only when I make a mistake and screw up my casting order.

Yeah man, I was on. Shit I was even in White Sands cranking out some quests. I'll be on again tonight. Just add Arduinna to your friend's list.

So here's the deal with our guild as it now stands.

Festus created the guild, and then invited myself and Winstan.
He promoted me to War Chief, and Winstan to Elder.
Festus then managed to somehow leave the guild, leaving it leaderless.
I'm the next highest ranking member, and I have invite/promote permissions.
But, it won't allow me to invite Festus, or any of his alts back into the guild.
Nor will it allow me to promote another member to my own rank, or a rank above me (leader).
Silz suggested we all leave the guild and let Festus recreate it.
But, there is no leave button in my guild window!
It did allow me to invite Fedaykin into the guild, but he had to be in-game and in the same instance to do it. Right-clicking on his name in the friends list, the invite option is grayed out, but checking the "invite to guild" toggle in the "find friends" search box seemed to work.
So for now we're stuck.

I had just dinged 15 and hadn't had a chance to figure things out yet....oh and I suck btw.......so I did some reading today on the BS and I should have buffed you guys one time then gone in and meleed with you. That's how my heals work. Oh well, lets try again soon. I need to get above lvl 20 so I can get out of tortage. I'll hop on TS for now on, but I will not use PTT, so if you hear my heavy breathing........deal with it. If you hear extra heavy breathing that means my wife has decided to go under my desk and........nm...she's pregnant and that would never happen. I've been off playing with my Girl Friend (reach level 20 together in the orgasmatron quests) this weekend and haven't been following along. I'll make Winstan quit the guild when i get home tonite.

Also, I've started and played 6 different characters to level 10-15 now. I've been trying to figure out which I'll enjoy taking to 80 the most. Therefore there have been no additional requests for membership as I don't want to have 6 toons in a guild and only play one of them.

It did seem odd that right after you invited me to the guild you left, but being a noob and all i figured you knew what your were doing.

I shall not make that mistake again...

actually, each toon you add to the guild counts toward the 24 that are required to build a city, so feel free to add them all.

Even though we are all relative noobs at this game, i seemed to be more noobish than most.

I've not yet been able to figure out how to add someone to my friends list that isn't in front of me. Is there a screen or window in the interface that allows me to type peoples names as friends or do I really have to see their sweet faces so i can shift click on them to add as friends?
