I just want to THANK whoever started this thread.

Once my wife saw a few pics she decided to quit moaning about my desk, which by comparison looks good enough to have sex on (Alas, according to the wife "STILL NOT GONNA HAPPEN" as of press time).


The system on the left is a 2.4 gig Athlon with 1 gig of ram and a 9800 pro vid card. My kids will soon be running that one once I hook up a router.

The one on the right is my new system, with an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ processor, 2 gigs DDR-SDRAM, and a radeon X800 video card.

I usually set every thing to output in 1280x720 which is the HDTV resolution. Couldn't do that with Doom 3. Need to get a 6800 series nvidia card. Playing Doom 3 in the dark on that screen is a good recipe for a heart attack though. It has sent my dog out of the room wimpering.

some reason msn likes to stay with attachments. any way the house was built in 1834, one of the first 10 built in Old Town, by one of the lumber barons of that time. the second owner was a Caption in the civil war. Or the story goes can't fined him in the civil war records on-line. The computer desk I made, it fits under the stairway. It's clean because the wife likes watching that British show Clean Sweap.

I "modified" it so the window washer hose actually ran thru the dash and out of the cigarette lighter socket. Filled up the resevoir with favorite beverage and when we ran out of drink.... hit the washer lever and presto.

The dots are teflon tape and they serve two purposes. First they reduce the drag caused by the plastic feet on mice. When you first add the tape you won't notice much of a difference, but have the tape wear off while playing and you'll know right away. Secondly and just as important, they kill the annoying scraping sound that happens when you rub plastic feet back and forth rapidly on a metal surface.

FYI to the married men out there. Tell your wife when you order the 47 dollar mouse pad. This will make it alot easier then waiting till she shes a 47 dollar paypal bill... If I could use 2 mice at the same time, I'd never leave the house........But seriousy. At work I use a 4-port KVM switch so I can use 4 machines with just one monitor,mouse,and kb. But for some reason, the switch doesn't like optical mice, so I just use mr. optical on my gaming machine.

I have been looking, but I see that they don't have them in stores, I have access to a CAD/plasma table, just need to see the finish and for $47, I assume it is aircraft aluminium, any info on the package, let me know. I'm going to sneak away from the wife next trip to the mall and hit staples, Best buy, Circuit city, comp usa and radio shack...ther are a few others at the mall, but they are more x-box type game stores.
