Anywho, for months my internet has been wonky. Getting Page Cannot be Displayed on sites I know are valid. Sometimes Google wouldn't even come up.
The first thing I would do is delete Temp Internet files and restart browser.
If that didn't work, I'd run NETSH WINSOCK RESET from a command prompt. That also requires a reboot so a major drag.
So I've had to reset Winsock about a dozen times in the last month. Finally got tired of it and found a site which had a link a Winsock Repair utility from Major Geeks (for XP only). I just ran it and all appears to be well again. Actually, my pages seem to be loading faster.
Time will tell if this fixes the corruption for good.
