Unfortunately I just ran across this on a web-site I visit every day. Czabe.com - he's a sports guy that says some funny shit and has a new clip every day. They are generally pretty good. Not to mention his snickys that grace the front page every day. Wish I knew where it was or how to get there but I don't. Just struck me as something many of our member would have a real blast doing. That was Moolkov firing the double LMG and shouting rock and roll after.

Actually it is held, every year, in East Texas, about an hour from here. The woman yelling "rock and roll" is my mother, Debra. We get an invite from Jerry, the owner of my "local" gunshop, where I have spent most of my savings. He gets his buddies together and we all go out to his land. The food is almost as good as letting rip with the guns........Oh wait, I forgot, I just made all of that up. It sure does look like a blast though.

Ok, I think I would be very scared if I saw something like that advertised.. Having your kids go into school on mondsy and when asked what they did over the weekend say I shot 400 rounds on'a tin can with'n Uzi, ma'm! Anyways, would love to try it sometime tho.. I'd love to get my hands on 50 cal. sniper rifle tho!

Looks like fun man. There is some place in Arizona I believe that lets you rent their guns & buy the ammo to shoot them as they fly remote controll planes for you to shoot at. Everything from the standard 12Ga shotgun to a 20MM vulcan. Yup thats right,, a 20MM vulcan AA gun on the traversing mount. Thats the one Id want to shoot but there aint no way I could afford to shoot the damn thing. Looks like someone dumping 5 gallon buckets of brass out the side of it.

Oh good old America! I wonder could you buy that AA gun just in case there's a plane trying to tresspass on your land? The world is a..... never mind.. Won't go into that.. to political! :-)

Unlike Killer's fictional account (nice), I know exactly where this is held as I have attended many times. It is actually held near Winchester Virginia and is usually sponsored by the North South Skirmish Association http://www.n-ssa.org/ most of the time. I have personally been there several times and my unit's (I used to be a Civil War reenactor) cannon has performed there. It is a BLAST (pun intended) and I laughed my ass off in total glee while firing the dual M-60's.
Now that I live in Texas I may look for that East Texas site Killer!

Shooting at model airplanes, now THERE'S some fun with guns! Especially machine guns, and why not mount a nice AA gun to play with too? I think it'd be fun to be the pilot of the R/C planes and try to dodge all the flak. How much would a job like that pay? It would never fly here in Canada anyhow so you guys have fun with it and I'll come visit.

Actually Pappy, I once got to shoot at model airplanes in California once as part of training, but I no more hit that than I can hit Obetsu these days. But even if you could somehow get a license to fire machine guns on private property, where would you BUY them? If those double mounted guns weren't M60's then they were M240s (7.62mm) versus M249s (5.56mm).

The Canadian Military have TRIED IT. I'll dig up the article and scan it some day. It may be at the 'rent's house.
