Highway Tampa

Hello ppl,

i got in late last nite & saw tampa was running on the svr, i thought oh good i havent played that one yet so i joined with my exited pants on, everything loaded ok then i clicked on the join button.

i got a message saying i couldnt join because i have "modified content" installed. the message went on to say i should revert to the "unmodified" version.


when i loaded tampa thru the content updater exe I patched again with 1.41, i thought this is what you had to do could that be the problem? I havent tried reloading the map yet but would that work? & is the problem because i re-patched after the map updated my system?

i have just built my new system so would like to get this right tonite if poss.

please help me i really wanna play Tampa :D

You might have downloaded Tampa when it was in Beta version.
Delete and re download Tampa file.
This happened to me also.

I haven't dl'd highway tampa, is it worth picking up? I see some servers advertising the fact that they DON'T have tampa as one of their maps which leads me to believe it sucks.

its kinda fun. Mostly armor map, in the dessert . Low visibility like a sand storm or something.

I think it's a pretty good map, but then I'm a landmine whore and this map is fantastic for that. It's more what I was expecting armoured fury to be more like.

I havent had a chance to play it yet. I idled around the server for Lord knows how long on that map and only got 4 peeps....hopefully soon I'll be able to play it.

Yeah it's not a very popular map. It sorta reminds me of the 1942 desert map with the two cappable mains. Can't remember the name of it for the life of me. All about the armor!

The beta thing is definitely the problem. Happened to me too. Downloading fixed it. Is Tampa on the rotation now?

It's may be an armor map, but there is so much cover around the flags, infantry can have fun defending, and pilots will enjoy it too, so I think it's pretty well rounded. You don't wanna be infantry caught out in the open desert though. IMO, it's pretty balanced and the lighting is great!

Yeah walking out in the desert you'll die of thirst before you get to a flag. Needs lots of people though, I found it pretty dull with 12.

have to agree waxy baby,
deffo good map (now i got it working) around flags is fun imo, i tend to play sniper on it tho as it is mahoosive. is it worth having a "Tampa" nite once a week rather than the server rotating? so we can all learn the map?

btw what league is the BF2 squad in?
