Approximately 2:50 a.m. (EST) Server #2 9/15/04 - Berlin

Serveral TLB members including myself witnessed Alksoft using a map exploit. Specifically he was spam throwing gernades through a wall.

I warned him both verbally and through BFRM. He apparently continued and was kicked by another member.

To my knowledge he was not banned. I have no idea why he decided to run that exploit since all my previous dealings with him on Server #2 have been at least above board.

Anyone, we discussed it on TS and decided the group should be notified.

I was the one that kicked him as I spawned next to him and watched him use the exploit as mentioned above. He just sat there, not moving facing the wall and throwing gernades through the wall. I watched him for about 10-15 seconds.

After thinking about it, I should have banned him as he knew what he was doing was wrong.

I request that he be banned from our servers for cheating.

Bottom line we advise with ingame auto messages that the use of exploits is not allowed. There is no excuse for this kind of behaviour

If Milito says he should be banned then ban him. We should know Milito well enough to trust his judgment on this. For how long do you want him banned Milito?

using an exploit is a big no- no. He should be banned until further notice, as if he even bothers to check out why he was banned.

Make sure in the future to get a screenshot when someone is using exploits. I have banned two people for using the hanger exploit where they get under the hanger where you cant kill them but they can kill you. I made sure to get a screenshot before I banned them.

For those who dont know how to take and view screenshots just hit Print Screen in game to take a screen shot. Then go to Start,My Computer,Local Disc :C,Program Files,EA Games,Battlefield 1942,then Click the Screenshots folder.


I personally feel that there is NO reason to issue a warning to someone who is obviously using a map glitch,and instead hit perma bann. :ban:

Better yet, get his SS. Use the right-click menu in BFRM under his name to request a screenshot. Give it about 60 seconds.

We have more than enough info to ban him right now for use of an exploit. I'm all for it.

The benefit of using the method Bart alludes to is that we can verify if needed that the screenshot was taken when it was, and that it has not been tampered with as an MD5 checksum is generated in the logs for the screenshot, and is also streamed to PsB in real time. If there is any dispute the image can be checked to make sure its MD5 value matches the checksum by either us using a particular admin tool and the logged MD5 value, or indeed if needs be by PsB themselves from the value streamed to them.

The image also will record their IP, GUID, server and map being played.

Repeated use of map glitches by one person may also result in them being added to the MBL

I believe that I did issue both a verbal warning, as shown above, and went on BFRM to issue a player specific warning.

Actually, I was quite surprised since during last nights #2 sessions, It appeared that Alsoft was cooperating, at least more than his usual, and was not always plane camping.

He does have talent. As for screenshots, etc, I didn't think of it at the time - sorry.

Regarding permanent ban - I'll leave it to older TLB members to decide that. Being new, I have personally never permanently banned someone. I've only given one 1 month ban to a person who was making racist remarks.

Perma ban his ass. I watched him on bocage recently. All he was doing was dropping ex-packs in the windmill and waiting for victims. No team play whatsoever. I said something about it to him and his reply was that he had the highest score. We were loosing the map. I didn't do anything about it other than tell him that it was unsportsman like. Now I wish I had. This non-team playing piece of garbage belongs somewhere else.

On Omoha beach??? He somehow goes to the middle of the ledge on the left "if your looking at the base" I have no clue how you get up that high. That is how he gets his kills on that map. No sniper thinks to look that high.
I found this by viewing him on cam when I died. "I always want to learn how a player is that good."

I agree with Moolkov. In my opinion alksoft is just the type of Player that we DON'T want on our server. I have not seen many players more selfish and score hungry than him. Good riddens Alksoft enjoy playing on the EA servers with the rest of the players that don't know what teamwork is.

If I see him on our server I will ban him since I saw he cheating.

Just in case alksoft or his friend drop by, let me say this: If you're a good player in this game, I believe you have to be very extra acreful with your actions. Clearly, you've played enough to see exploits other examples of unethical play.

Seems we run across a player like this every so often. An alksoft, Homer, or justme. justme is now the "top ranked" player in bftracks.com (http://www.bftracks.com/appl/bft/Search), but look at his Best Servers (http://www.bftracks.com/appl/bft/Player/view/1160845) list. The guy is such a stats whore, all he's left with now are EA servers. A lot of TLB could be at the top of BFTracks if all we did was play for score on EA servers. Thankfully, TLB play for the team, and for a good and fair game.

Bart, I agree with you about these guys. I played with/against justme a few times on EA servers. I was wondering how the hell he was #1 on Bftracks. Its because thats all they care about. He didnt give a crap if his team lost, as long as he had a good score by preying on noobs. I think the game is much more fun working as a team. And being the underdog, for the challange. Thats why I usually switch to even.
